Frost Engineering & Consulting provided structural engineering services for this new construction building at the University of Notre Dame. The 3 -story, 65,533 sq. ft. Stayer Executive Education Center was designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects. Construction costs were approximately $22 million. The first floor of the building features large multipurpose spaces while the second floor offers a range of classrooms. The third floor provides offices and an executive lounge.
Frost’s scope included the design of the cold-formed steel portal framing systems for this elaborate educational center with over twenty different jamb/header/sill scenarios. The Frost team incorporated the framing into a slew of tightly packed structural and architectural elements including steel HSS tubes, concrete masonry, and arched precast concrete lintels.
