Frost Engineering & Consulting was enlisted by Forest River, Inc. for engineering review, testing, and inspecting of scaffold walkway work platforms at multiple facility locations. Forest River Inc. operates multiple manufacturing facilities throughout the United States producing commercial vehicles, buses, motor homes, and a variety of travel trailers and campers.

At the manufacturing facilities, scaffold work platforms are used during the production process. The units can be lifted and lowered as needed for large production capacity and it order to permit the passage of the products. Work personnel operate from the platforms to complete the construction of different vehicles. High-end stress-strain investigation into the performance of the platforms was completed to get a better understanding of the load path by adhering to the State Building Code, Municipal Code Requirements, OSHA requirements, and applying equations and methodologies of IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 341 and 360, SJI, and AF&PA NDS.
