Frost Engineering & Consulting designed this enclosed walkway integrated with a roof pipe rack to allow for easy access between buildings and to support various utility lines that were required to remain active during renovations of the existing facility. The walkway is fully enclosed using a girt/purlin system to support FRP corrugated Resolite opaque and translucent panels which provide protection from the weather and natural lighting. The main structure consisted entirely of FRP pultruded material in order to support the accelerated project schedule and to provide extended durability as requested by the client due to the nature of the salt plant and the exterior location. While FEC was not the EOR for the project, FEC worked closely with the EOR and the client to streamline the project schedule and to provide a high-quality product that satisfied the client needs.
