Community & Faith

The Queen of All Saints community in Michigan City is a vibrant and active parish. It includes a church with approximately 3,500 members, a Catholic grade school serving 185 students from PK to 8th grade, and over 50 ministries involving more than 200 people.

To better serve its growing community, the parish recently undertook an expansion project. This project added 15,500 square feet of building space, creating a seamless connection between the church and school buildings. The new space enhanced the functionality of the preexisting facilities and also provides additional areas for community gatherings, educational activities, and ministry work.

Frost Engineering & Consulting served as the specialty structural engineer for load-bearing and non-load-bearing cold-formed steel framing. The project scope included designing and submitting engineered calculations for exterior and interior walls, roofing, and door and window framing for both the new building addition and the rehabilitation of the existing school building. The team ensured compatibility with the existing structure, addressing unique challenges and providing innovative solutions. Detailed submittals were provided to meet all necessary codes and standards, ensuring the project’s success and structural integrity.
