The Notre Dame School of Architecture moved from Bond Hall, it’s home since 1967 into the newly constructed Walsh Family Hall in 2019. The 100,000-square-foot building on the south side of campus was designed by John Simpson, a world-renowned architect in the classical tradition and the structure won several awards for design.

The new building enables the college, founded in 1898, to conduct its curriculum in classically inspired rooms equipped with contemporary technologies. The additional capacity of the new building helped with the growing school have space needed for two new graduate programs in historic preservation and real estate development. Construction costs for the project were estimated at $30 million.

The Frost team engineered the connections for the large-scale decorative features that adorn the roofline at the building’s main entrance.

Frost engineers collaborated with project contractors to design a specialized scaffold base, which was essential for constructing the framework of one of the Hall’s auditorium rooms.
