Frost Engineering & Consulting provided structural engineering services for the redesign of the University of Notre Dame’s historic grand entrance, the Main Circle. This transformative project introduced a new design intended to honor the legacy of women alumnae, creating a space that seamlessly blended tradition with modern functionality.

The redesign featured four arched banquette benches and five arched raised planting beds, totaling nearly 580 linear feet of elegant, load-bearing structural elements constructed with masonry. Frost engineered the structural footings and above-grade components for these features, along with four end piers and a pedestal supporting a commemorative sculpture.

The redesigned circle offers visitors an iconic entrance to the campus, reinforcing Notre Dame’s commitment to honoring its storied history.
