The Ark Encounter features a full-size representation of Noah’s Ark, designed based on the Genesis flood biblical narrative. The structure spans approximately 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high and consists of an estimated 3,300,000 board feet of wood. Over 1,000 craftsmen were employed in the ark’s construction using traditional timber framing techniques.

Frost Engineering acted as the lead structural engineer for the foundation system design of the mass timber ark. In addition, the Frost team delivered design and drafting services for several distinctive stair and elevator towers linked to the main structure. The project’s total construction costs were estimated at $75 million.
