FRP Solar Canopies
SEPTEMBER 2024

Here’s an exciting update with a progress photo of the solar energy project in New Jersey, featuring the use of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP). In partnership with Northstar Technologies Group, Frost’s team developed the truss system that supports solar canopies located over a parking lot area.

FRP is an ideal material for solar panel construction, offering several significant benefits such as resistance to corrosion and UV light, lightweight properties, design versatility, electrical insulation, and minimal thermal conductivity. This non-toxic material is eco-friendly and can be recycled at the end of its service life, aligning with the goal of creating renewable and sustainable energy systems. The properties of FRP make it a versatile and efficient choice for constructing solar panels, ensuring durability, safety, and enhanced performance.
