CAMX Award Winners 2024
AUGUST 2024

We are thrilled to announce that our principal, Kevin Q. Walsh, PhD, PE, SE and our graduate studies intern, Capra Williams, EI have been selected as one of the CAMX – The Composites and Advanced Materials Expo Outstanding Technical Paper winners for their paper “Experimentally Measured Tensile Performance of Pultruded FRP at Elevated Temperatures”.

Frost Engineering, in partnership with NEx: An ACI Center of Excellence for Nonmetallic Building Materials and University of Notre Dame, conducted research regarding fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composite fire resistance and elevated temperature performance. Testing protocols included heating FRP specimens at temperatures ranging from 75 ˚F to 150 ˚F while simultaneously conducting tensile testing procedures. The aim of this research was to provide design criteria and data points furthering design capabilities utilizing FRP composites in structural framing applications.
